Broeikas presented its annual Entrepreneur Award to Jonas Goossens of Roltex. Jonas Goossens was able to inspire the students of Aalst the most and receives the label 'Entrepreneur of the Year' for one year. None other than Steven Van Herreweghe and Sara Van Boxstael moderated the annual celebration of entrepreneurship in Aalst, this time in an online format and broadcast from Netwerk.
For the tenth time in a row, the annual Entrepreneur Award was organised by Broeikas, a collaboration between HOGENT, Odisee and the city of Aalst. From the arts centre Netwerk this edition was streamed online. Besides the presenters and organisers, only the entrepreneurs who made it into the top three were present at the event. Hundreds of 'spectators' followed the spectacle live in front of the screen. Surrounded by an atmospheric dose of space, the theme of this edition, they could help decide which entrepreneur would 'land' as the winner.
The public chose Jonas Goossens from the top three as the winner of the Entrepreneur Award 2021. He has been at the forefront for three years at Roltex, manufacturer of trays and unbreakable glasses. He started out as a consultant and now, as co-owner, is responsible for modernising the company. In addition to design and innovation, sustainability is also very important to him. Mayor Christoph D'Haese presented the award with due enthusiasm.
