Craft Tray Sustainability That Lasts – Discover Our Innovative Product!
At Roltex, we are committed to creating products that not only enhance your life but also have a positive impact on the planet. Our latest product Craft Tray combines the natural strength of paper (65%) with the durability of resin (35%) to offer a solution designed for long-lasting performance and sustainability.
We set out to combine two of our flagship trays (Laminate and Earth tray) into one brand-new super-tray called Craft Tray.
What makes our product special?
Natural and sustainable paper: With 65% of the product made from FSC®-certified paper, we prioritise using renewable, eco-friendly resources.

Mille designs his own tray Mille (10) designs a drawing for trays at the pediatric department at AZ Turnhout:
Asparkling drawing by Mille Nuyts (10) from Oostmalle now adorns the new trays in the children's ward at AZ Turnhout. Mille spent a week in the hospital at the end of last year and created a beautiful drawing of Kiko the monkey, the cheerful mascot. "Every day I finished a little bit more," says a proud Mille.
To brighten up the stay of children at AZ Turnhout, the children's ward at Campus Sint-Jozef has made the meal trays more colorful. At the end of last year, the hospital organised a drawing competition for the children staying there. Mille Nuyts from Oostmalle won with a fantastic drawing, which now graces the new trays.
“When Mille was in the children's ward with meningitis in October last year, he participated in the competition to make a beautiful drawing of Kiko the monkey,” says Hetty Voeten from AZ Turnhout. “Kiko, our mascot, stands for 'Child is King' and accompanies all children during their hospital stay, examinations, and doctor appointments.”
This spring, the team from the children's ward selected 36 wonderful submissions. An innocent child's hand drew Mille’s drawing as the winner. The trays will come into circulation this fall, but Mille already got a preview together with his mom, Ruth Swinnen. “When I was in the hospital, I made a little bit of the drawing every day,” Mille explains. He also got to take a tray home. “We didn’t expect to win. This drawing competition made his hospital stay much more enjoyable,” says Ruth Swinnen.
The company Roltex from Aalst took care of the production of the trays, which measure 32.5 by 26.5 centimeters. “This size is called a half gastronorm, and it's half the size of regular trays,” explains Danielle Ansoms from Roltex. “We made 170 of these cheerful trays for AZ Turnhout. Our employees loved producing such colorful trays.”
But that's not all! The tray is the icing on the cake of a larger project. The staff at AZ Turnhout also had new, cheerful, child-friendly cutlery and crockery made. “The yellow cutlery and crockery also feature a banana, the favorite food of Kiko the monkey,” says Erik Luyten from producer Jos ten Berg. “Like Roltex, we were charmed by this project and gave a substantial discount to AZ Turnhout.”
Entrepreneur of the Year
Eskilstuna Business Community Celebrates Peter Wall as Entrepreneur of the Year
Eskilstuna, Sweden - On the evening of April 18, 2024, Peter Wall, owner of The Wallent group, was honored with the prestigious title of Entrepreneur of the Year by the business community in Eskilstuna. The award, presented by Företagarna Eskilstuna-Torshälla, recognizes Wall's outstanding achievements and contributions to the industry.
The recognition came as part of the Eskilstuna Näringsliv event, a merger of Näringslivsdagen and Marknadsplats, where the local business community gathered for a day of inspiring lectures and meetings. The evening was dedicated to celebrating the success of entrepreneurs throughout the year. The event, organized by Nyföretagarcentrum, Mälardalen Chamber of Commerce, Marknadsföreningen, and Företagarna, showcased the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation that drives the region's economy.
Peter Wall's entrepreneurial journey has been marked by his unwavering vision for the future and his commitment to sustainability. As the owner of The Wallent group, which includes subsidiaries like Roltex and Mälarplast, Wall has not only put his company on the map in Sweden and beyond but has also championed environmental awareness in an industry not typically associated with sustainability.
Under Wall's leadership, The Wallent group has undertaken innovative projects to become the greenest manufacturer in the industry. Initiatives such as the Green Loop System have been instrumental in reducing the company's environmental footprint. By prioritizing durability, innovation, and European-made foodservice products of the highest quality, Wall and his teams in Sweden and Belgium are striving to become market leaders in their field.
"We are incredibly proud of Peter Wall's achievement and the recognition he has received from the business community in Eskilstuna," says Maarten Munhoz, CEO of Roltex. "His entrepreneurial spirit, innovative strategies, and social commitment have not only propelled our company forward but have also set an example for the entire industry."
Joint forces in Europe
With a new captain on board, there are changes in the position of yesterday’s structure. Peter Wall will be chairman of the board of both companies. Peter lives in Sweden and has a strong vision on business as well as a wide knowledge in production. He is the major shareholder of both companies August Lundh & Roltex and has his own production company as well in Scandinavia.
The previous CEO and President of Roltex, Karl Huylebroeck, is going to take it a bit easier. However he will keep investing time in R&D and Business Development as an ambassador of the company.

Elevate your buffet with our S-Cube and S-Plank
S-Cubes are small, stackable anti-slip blocks. You can stack as much as you want on top of each other (although we recommend max. 4) to create multiple levels in your buffet. This opens up new ways of designing your buffet. Anywhere you desire, you can put an item in the spotlight by raising its level or simply because it looks more appealing when elevated.
S-Cubes will make your buffet sparkle ✨
The S-Plank was specifically designed for our S-Cubes. The presentation trays are very lightweight despite what their appearance suggests, the weight makes them easier to use in day-to-day services. The S-Plank comes in many different patterns and sizes, suited for many occasions. Designing buffets will never have been so fun as with the S-Cube and S-Plank.
1. Take two S-Cubes
2. Slide one S-Cube into the other to create a little tower
3. Push until the blocks fit firmly
4. Make 4 towers of the desired height
5. Place your S-Plank on top of the S-Cubes
Lights of nature
We’re happy to introduce you to our new Alpha generation Earth serving trays. These trays have smooth roundings that feel soft to the touch in combination with its matt and structured surface. It’s been designed with great attentetion to user comfort with its own unique style and texture!
Alpha is both durable and sustainable as it's made out of 90% renewable materials. A combination of hard paper and bio waste resin makes it one of a kind. Although this serving tray is almost completely made out of natural materials, it’s dishwasher safe & stackable when dry.
Our Roltex Design Lab was inspired by the beauty of nature for our new collection. During the day, the colours of the sky are constantly changing between yellow, orange, blue,… By combining the ‘lights of nature’ print with our Earth tray, we tried to create an exclusive collection that brings nature into hospitality management.
Enthusiast about this new range of serving trays and wondering how it would look like with your logo or design on top? Let's talk about options:
Our Alpha range is available in these 4 popular sizes and can be decorated with 'Lights of nature', with one of our standard prints like vintage, beton, terrazzo, ... or with any print you like.
Gastrolicious in black
Our original line, the ‘Gastronorm in full black’ was created with one idea in mind. To create an elegant serving tray that despite its beauty does not lose its durability. These polyester trays in the size Gastronorm 1/1 and Gastronorm ½ are both available in a classic rectangular shape with satin surface or in our modern Rocca design with a matt, structured surface.
Well, we chose the colour black for two particular reasons. The first being the sophistication of the colour black. Black has a certain refinement that’s unseen in any other colour. The second reason is that we use ‘Black Classic Plus’-polyester, which is not only scratch resistant but also the strongest material in the market!
Gastronorm is a European standard size for trays measuring 53 x 32,5 cm. This allows for all trays to have the same size. Other than that our gastronorm 1/1 offers a large surface for a plate, bowl, tumbler etc. Lastly, we have a feature that’s often overlooked yet undeniably important! The gastronorm 1/1 size is easy to combine with trolleys, which will make service that much enjoyable.
Serving breakfast, a lovely dessert in the afternoon or having young customers during service? With the ½ Gastronorm we offer you a cute buddy to complete your tray range for every occasion.
Roltex adheres to high quality standards, that’s why we’re confident in giving a 5 year warranty on every gastronorm tray made out of ‘Black Classic Plus’-polyester. One, two or ten shifts a day? This tray can handle any amount of usage!

Made in Belgium
A circular economy is what we’re aiming for, that’s why we choose to keep our production in Belgium. This way we can oversee the production process closely and make changes on very short notice, for example after a new environmental friendly technique has been invented, we can immediately implement it.
Make an impact with Terrazzo
For our new Terrazzo print, our Designlab was inspired by ancient Italy. Back in the day marble and granite were often used to build churches. To save money they poured the leftovers of these materials in the concrete floor. Frequent walking over the floor caused wear and tear which revealed small pieces of granite and marble. Because of the beauty of these floors, they started using the print on other products as well. This is how Terrazzo style came to be.
Our new Terrazzo print gives your interior a refreshing look and is available in our Earth Wave, Alpha and Puro line of serving trays. The surface of these trays are mat and structured, which provides a very natural feel while using. The trays are perfect for daily use and they’re dishwasher safe (trays should only be stacked when dry).
Looking for a more durable variant made out of a stronger material that can handle multiple shifts a day? We’re also offering Terrazzo as part of our Dura line (7 different sizes) or as top layer in all our polyester trays.
Here at Roltex we also love the environment and we’re trying our best to reduce our waste. That’s why the most inspiring thing about the Terrazzo print and our serving trays is that they consist out of 90% renewable materials!
Depending on the use of the tray, we can assemble the perfect one for you. Don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do the rest. That way you have more time to impress your clientele with the new Terrazzo print.
Entrepreneur of the year
Broeikas presented its annual Entrepreneur Award to Jonas Goossens of Roltex. Jonas Goossens was able to inspire the students of Aalst the most and receives the label 'Entrepreneur of the Year' for one year. None other than Steven Van Herreweghe and Sara Van Boxstael moderated the annual celebration of entrepreneurship in Aalst, this time in an online format and broadcast from Netwerk.
For the tenth time in a row, the annual Entrepreneur Award was organised by Broeikas, a collaboration between HOGENT, Odisee and the city of Aalst. From the arts centre Netwerk this edition was streamed online. Besides the presenters and organisers, only the entrepreneurs who made it into the top three were present at the event. Hundreds of 'spectators' followed the spectacle live in front of the screen. Surrounded by an atmospheric dose of space, the theme of this edition, they could help decide which entrepreneur would 'land' as the winner.
The public chose Jonas Goossens from the top three as the winner of the Entrepreneur Award 2021. He has been at the forefront for three years at Roltex, manufacturer of trays and unbreakable glasses. He started out as a consultant and now, as co-owner, is responsible for modernising the company. In addition to design and innovation, sustainability is also very important to him. Mayor Christoph D'Haese presented the award with due enthusiasm.
